Location: Carmel, NY Description: We are hiring part-time, non-benefited Recreation/Fitness Counselors to work in our Substance Abuse rehabilitation facility in Carmel, NY. The hours are 9:00 AM 5:30 PM on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, Monday. These positions may be combined to create a 32 hour full-time, benefited position. The primary function of the Recreation/Fitness Counselor is to provide orientation, training and supervision of all patients and staff in the fitness and recreation aspects of substance abuse rehabilitation. The Recreation/Fitness Counselor is responsible to carry out daily operations of the fitness program and maintenance of its equipment. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supervise patients in all fitness activities and documents / communicates observations / progress to appropriate staff. Ensures the safety and risk management of the department by coordinating / regulating problems to appropriate staff. Provides patients with instruction in: wellness issues, relaxation techniques, nutritional planning, sober life choices and individual fitness program. Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team. Maintains fitness equipment. Provides didactic presentations on fitness aspects of rehabilitation process. Responsible for documentation of fitness assessments, individual consultations, patient recommendations and special patient needs / interventions. Maintains positive interrelationships with the treatment team members, family members, referents and other business resources. Is actively involved in Milieu Management. Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Fitness or related field and 1-3 years related experience (experience in athletics, yoga and/or art therapy). Job Title: Day Camp Counselor TDSHS Company: YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Location: Rockwall, TX Description: Responsible for supervision, safety and activities of children in assigned group while ensuring the safety of all children between the ages of 5-12. Will closely supervise a group of school-age children in all scheduled activities in the program; such supervision will consist of visual and auditory awareness as well as a pattern of circulating among the children. Will follow the pick-up and check out procedure. Will follow the discipline policy set in staff training. Will report supplies needing repair or depletion to the Camp Director. Will be completely responsible for the safety and well-being of each child in your group; must quickly move to attend to injured or ill child (be able to transport if necessary) and initiate first aid procedures. Will keep an accurate daily count of the children in your group each day. Will follow the field trip procedure set at staff training. Will attend all scheduled training sessions, staff meeting, and any other meetings deemed necessary by the Child Care Director for camp. Will assist in set-ups and clean-ups throughout the summer. Will report any illness or injury of a child or staff to the Child Care Director immediately following incident. Will report suspected child abuse to supervisor. Will implement site-evacuation/emergency procedures for fire, chemical spill, tornado, etc. Will function at a the camp providing leadership to up to 10 children.
