Job Title: YMCA Aquatic Instructors Company: New Canaan Community YMCA Location: New Canaan, CT Description: GENERAL FUNCTION   Under the direction of the Assistant Aquatic Director (AI) to teach the recreational swim classes. Provide a safe, clean, knowledgeable, and fun environment for all aquatic participants.   KNOW-HOW   ·        Certifications in CPR for Professional Rescuer, Lifeguarding, YSWIM lessons or equivalent, First Aid, and AED. ·        Must be able to present one?s self professionally and cooperatively with peers, staff, and members.   PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES   ·        Remain certified in ARC, CPR/First Aid, and AED and updated as YMCA Instructor in YSWIM lesson program, or WSI. ·        Instructor must attend any instructor trainings, workshops, and meetings that are scheduled. ·        Must follow guidelines of the YMCA National Swim Program. ·        Interact with children in an appropriate manner incorporating the four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and responsibility. ·        Communicate with aquatic staff, membership, and co-workers in a professional manner. ·        Maintain facility cleanliness and integrity. Making sure all equipment is put away and locked at the end of the last class. ·        Responsible to be in attendance during every scheduled class, unless Aquatic Director approves vacation time. ·        Responsible to evaluate every student assigned. Written evaluation on each participant must be handed in every session to Assistant Aquatic Director. ·        Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor. ·        Job Description may be changed at any time by supervisor.
