Works evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the customers using the pool facilities. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist the Aquatic Trainer/Supervisor to develop, implement and monitor pool activities for clientele as needed/required: 2. Observe and oversee members in the use of pool facilities, administer life saving, first aid and CPR to victims of an injury as needed/required. 3. Perform required maintenance to include vacuum pool, clean pool deck and skimmers and back wash pool as needed/required. 4. Check chemical reading temps and sends forms to Oneida Environmental as needed/required. 5. Instruct/teach swim classes and aquatic aerobic classes/programs for members of all ages and abilities. 6. Complete all projects to include reports, activity checklist, narratives and injury/accident reports in an accurate and timely manner. 7. Maintain client and pool records as needed/required. 8. Open and close the Oneida Family Fitness and pool facility as assigned. 9. Perform daily inspection of all equipment for repairs/defects, document and report any maintenance issues in a timely manner. 10. Adhere and enforce Oneida Fitness Standard Operating Procedures. 11. Ensure the safety of each member is maintained at all times. 12. Design, implement and track Member Incentive Programs as scheduled. Assist in promoting both internal and external health and fitness related events as needed/required. 13. Attend Oneida Family Fitness staff meetings and trainings as needed/required. 14. Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing customer and employee needs courteously and promptly. 15. Contribute to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required. 16. Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, Department Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies. 17. Job Title: Lifeguard - Company: Location: los angeles, CA Description: Lifeguards first and foremost responsibility is to diligently watch over the patrons in the water and on the deck, enforce pool and YMCA policies (there by preventing accidents from occurring) and when needed perform water rescues, CPR and First Aid as needed. A YMCA Lifeguard must remain alert, scan his/her area constantly, and be prepared at all times! Responsibilities: Provide a positive pool environment for every member, guest and staff. Remain alert, aware and prepared to act at all times. Be on time. Clock in 5 min. prior to you shift. Be prepared with fully stocked fanny pack, whistle and complete uniform every shift. Enforce ALL pool rules, policies, schedules, and procedures. Copies of these are located in the Aquatics Department Manual on the pool deck. Keep the pool deck clean, organized and free from any obstructions. Complete guard turnover checklist at the start of your shift. Turn into the Supervisors box in the guard closet. Keep chemical log accurate by taking necessary chemical tests at assigned times. Report any unsafe or irregular reading to Maintenance immediately. Report any hazards or broken equipment to supervisor immediately. Report all accidents and incidents by following the EMS protocol and turning the appropriate forms into the supervisor box in the guard closet. Follow opening and closing procedures. Maintain a professional & helpful attitude towards members, staff & supervisors at all times. Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor pertaining to the Aquatics Department.
